Insanctuary^{The Space}

Open to the public everyday at sunset.

A glass wall faces the sunset overlooking ponds, waterfalls and gardens galore.

I have a page dedicated to the space, the theatre, here because I have an idea for a theatre that is a new take on the physical plant and the machine we think of as a performing arts center. Also, in all of my references to Cirque Du Soliel, one of the reasons they are so successful and highly thought of is due to their creation of specific theatrical spaces designed specific shows with a certain set of technical requirements.

The Insanctuary Space is unique among theatrical venues. It is a round building, stacked like an Omega Energy Cell. The center section of the stack is the audience and the stage area. The top stack is where all of the rigging, lighting and scenic effects that fly are kept. This is Overworld. The basement is called Underworld and houses all of the elevators, water tanks, the holographic chamber and other special effects. The theatre is divided into quadrants, five pieces of a pie, and each quadrant contains these specific rigging and effects for that section of the performance.

The back wall of the theatre is ionized glass and can be blacked out or made clear. The exterior is also utilized as the gardens are also in quadrants and can be used as exterior scenery. The entire grounds are designed with light, fire, water, and other effects. The weather also plays a huge part of the theatrical presentation. sunsets, full moons, lightning storms, snowstorms- all will be used as part of the individual productions.

The center section, the audience and the stage rotate to each quadrant to utilize the effects used above and below. Like the Carousel of Progress the audience and the stage move to the different locations of specialty rigging, lighting, elevators and exteriors.

The mix of magic, great music and stories of spirit will make this space unique. The physical plant will make this place one of a kind.
